There's nothing you yourself can do about it. The speech and music are all one audio signal.
I've complained to the BBC before now about their incessant drumming noise in the background while the newsreader is announcing the headlines, but they still do it. I know their reasoning is to try to add a touch of drama to possibly dull and boring news, but it sure gets on my wick!
An on-air discussion about this blamed young producers. In particular, they seem to have an especial horror of on-air silence, and insist of filling the void with (sometimes not so background) music, helping destroy otherwise enjoyable programmes.
Aaargh! :-(
