disappearing employee
One of my employees took a few days off work to move house, but has since never returned! This was well over a month ago - obviously because she was moving I have no contact address or telephone number for her. However, I need to send on her P45. She was on her last warning, so there are sufficient reasons for her sacking. The problem is I can't contact her to send the P45. Is there any way I can submit a P45 without passing on a copy to her. I've already phoned the business helpline, who directed me to ACAS but they couldn't help. Any ideas?!

She's obviously jacked in the job before you got a chance to sack her anyway, and thats the day she never returned to work. Its not your problem if she hasnt got her p45, and anyway she can alsways fill out a p46 wen she gets a new job, so really dont bother yourself with the p45. If she really wants it she'll contact you.

Can I also suggest that you contact the Police. Regardless of any business dealings, there may be a genuine problem (she could be dead somewhere!). I realise this is highly unlikely, especially under the circumstances but I work in a murder team and have seen it all, you just never know... The question is, could you liive with yourself if you later found out something had happened to her. If she left being owed wages then it is definitely worth getting her welfare checked as most people come back for their wages, however much they hate their job. Just a thought for you.
