Tks for your prompt jno. I am aware of this book but have read reviews that consider it a bit frivolous and not much of a learning tool.
Tks again for your time.
'Ecce Romani' was the title we used in my 3rd form at school... all about a chap called Caecilius whose wife Scintilla was always preparing dinner...
Also try the Cambridge Latin course- can't remember the exact titles, but were co-written by Maurice Balme and some other bloke. Provided much merriment in class due to the amateur illustrations.
