I think Stagg was more going along with the woman (undercover cop) than trying to impress her. Didn't she say she wanted to be cut and brutalised by a man so he carried it on?

If I met a lovely woman who started harping on that she wanted to be cut up, I think I would give her a bit of a wide berth?
