I need HELP with pc/camera pics. !!

Please, I do hope some will be able to help & in very simple terms.
I was planning to record my photos & short films to a dvd via my laptop from my digital camera, to enable me to view them on tv.
I have inadvertantly erased my digital memory card. The photos are stored in the photo gallery on the laptop, but the short video clips appear to be gone.
Firstly, how do I transfer these pictures to a dvd (I have a dvd burner within laptop)? & is it possible that the video clips are stored anywhere?
I am really useless with this sort of thing, so easy to follow help will be necessary. Thanks for your patience...

Firstly, apologies for my flippant answer to your second post - I hadn't seen the first one, and thought it was a wind-up.
The laptop has a DVD burner - OK, that's fine. Does it have a program, eg Nero, to actually do the burning?

4candles (like the name), thanks for replying...The program is Roxio Digital Media Studio v7. I have already burnt a CD & DVD & I thought this would be just as easy. Obviously not !!

OK - so the program and the burning do work. I've not seen this Roxio thing. When you say you've used it before, was that for music/video or pics?

Well, I burnt a CD & then I also managed to do a DVD that a friend had recorded.
I was very pleased that I managed to do these 2 things, because it is very much hit & miss with my knowledge.

OK. As I say, I don't know Roxio, but on the one I use you have to select whether you're burning an audio CD or a Data CD (for pictures). Is there that option in Roxio?

Yes, you have an option of audio (dropdown menu lists- AUDIO CD, JUKEBOX CD/DVD or create MP3s)
-or-
data (dropdown menu lists DATA DISC, DIRECT TO DISC or EASY ARCHIVE).

Hmmm - assuming you used the data option, I'm really at a loss to know why it didn't work. I thought I'd 'have a go' as there were no other answers forthcoming, but this subject is not really my forte ;)
