Colored eyes

we have a variety of eye colour in my family ranging from blue to green to brown to hazel...! I see different racial groups with different eye colors and also african americans and indo-europeans of none caucasian origins. is it common in other racial categories other than white or what we refer to as Caucasian? and what causes it?

SCARFACE, do you happen to have green eyes? Are you the reincarnation of someone else because I remember a missing ABer who used to ask very similar questions. Not trying to be rude or anything, I was just wondering. I don't know an answer to your question but I heard about some research being done to see if eye color affects (to ANY degree) vision and/or perception of non-visual concepts.
