last shot at it (but i did think 1st colour transmission was in 1967 by BBC2) i can't remember the 1st ad's i saw but i'm sure it was in the 50s - could have been a washing powder or maybe a toothpaste - but feel sure it was in the 50's - so i will plump for 'independent tv channel'

oh dear ! you've really got me reminiscing now - we were 1st in our area to have tv - stanley mattews at wembley and the Queen's coronation - our house was jam packed with friends and neighbours, and 'yes' some in garden catching glimpses thro' window - straight up - and my mother missing lots of the action 'brewing up' god bless her. i acn feel lump in throat - catch you later!
