dont think it was love thy neighbour. cant remember the actual name of the programme but hilda baker was in it and the character that said il have half was called walter. another phrase always in the programme was "have you been walter?"

I can see the old boys face and I've checked on the net for reference to that saying but no joy but I think it was The Dustbinmen from 1969 with Smellie etc. Also Graham Haberfield was in it who used to be in Corrie but sadly died at age 34.

My other 'arf and I definitely remember the line coming from the character Jacko in Love Thy Neighbour.
