I am looking for a selection of headlines for 3rd September 1977. Wher ecan I find them on the web?

Elvis Presley was No1 with Way Down (he was, of course, recently deceased...). Cyrille Regis made his West Brom debut and scorted once in a 2-1 win over Middlesbrough... Not quite the major headlines of the day, but it's a start ;-) The best and easiest place to find the *actual* headlines would be your local library, which should hold local/ national newspaper archives. Online newspapers haven't got archives going that far back.

Have you tried www.historychannel.com? They have news events for any day of the year.
