Divide by 7 to get 10% then multiply by 10 to get 100%
but I warn you maths is not my strong point.LOL
Divide by 70, Times 100

(or Divide by .7)
X divide by 0.7 = total figure

well sodamall actually in my day it probably was too! Maths was one of my best subjects over 50 years ago and I can beat most youngsters at mental arithmetic to this day. I must confess I didn't try very hard to work out the formula. Its a while since I needed to use a formula and that was when it was for VAT at 17.5% and had forgotten this one was so easy
Thanks Diane and Johnalex for your help - the rest of the tax return I'm working on should be more straghtforward and I have now been given the figure I needed 70% of!!
johnalex - I think the words pot, kettle and black spring to mind. You cannot take the moral high ground about manners and then follow that with your second comment!
