I am getting an error message on my PC and have been told It is something to do with ymy wireless network card.
I have been told to take it out, reboot, shut down, put it back in, then switch on.
My problem is I am not too sure what I am supposed to take out. I assumed it was the thin, black pointed thing about 18cms long sticking out of the back of my PC box but it doesn't seem to want to came out easily and I am afraid of doing any harm. Any advice appreciated.

I have never heard of this as a solution.

More information please. What is the error message? What exactly happens?

Windows? XP? Vista?
If you have a tower PC then the network card will be fitted to the motherboard and you will have to go inside the case to remove and replace it. The black pointed thing you refer to will be the antenna and pulling on this may cause damage.

As Ethel says - what is the error message.

You may be able to rectfy things by uninstalling the device in device manager and then rebooting and allowing the PC to reinstall the card.
