Not from experience, but you might try www.bristolcancerhelp.org for nutrition information.  Get well soon!

This is from experience...

You've more than likely lost weight - in my case half of me disappeared! - so you need to build yourself back up.  As I was so thin I was allowed anything - loads of chocs, cakes, puddings - but I had to make sure that in between snacks (lol !) I had well balanced meals with meat or fish & plenty of veg & fruit. It's common sense really - if you need to gain weight several smaller meals a day are better than 1 or 2 large ones. Vitamin enriched drinks such as Build-up are good too.

The food I found intolerable was anything fried, too much pastry or too much spice, but as these are not good foods anyway it really didn't matter.

Having said all this please ask at your hospital to talk to a dietician, who can make out a list of food suitable for your particular needs.

Hope your treatment wasn't too gruelling for you & that you have a full recovery &  a healthy future.

 All the best. x

I'm afraid I can't offer you any ideas crafty, but I wish you, or whoever is ill - well very soon.

talking from experience it all depends on how u feel.....if u are still not really able to stomach anything....just eat what ever takes uf fancy.... i at strawberries and one slice of toast tper day....but the good news is that u are going to improve...straight after intesive chemo deep fat fried stuff used to make me gag and I had to get out of the room.... They had me on a hight calorie IV in the hospital  for a couple of months and then i was slowly weaned off of it.... I used to nibble those high calorie biscuits that climbers and outdoor people use.... apart from that all u have to do is give it time ur appetite will come back and u will gain ur weight back .... I had a body fat measurement of 0.3 at the end of treatment.(later neighbours told me that they couldn't look at me coz I was a living skeleton) ......and now I would rather not say what the reading is ........Chocolate, creamcakes, McDonalds (if u can) stuff with lots of fat, steak, soft drinks (loaded with sugar). Hang in there ...also be ready for ur appetite to appear for about 5 minutes and then it disappears..... so have some stuff in the frigde or in the cupboards .....and I suppose I dont need to tell u if u feel nauseaus .....dont keep it in..... let it out...have a fling and u feel almost instantly better.... carry a plastic bag around with u in ur pocket ...and just fling into that.... and again u will improve and u will regain ur weight and u will regain ur strenght and u will forget all the bad stuff ...GOOD LUCK!

Thanx guys x x x
In my experiance, I found alcohol made me feel worse than the chemo itself. Anything else was fine although as I was given so much steroids I just wanted to munch anything.
