Are they right to let Mugabe attend the EU-Africa summit because other African leaders threatened to boycott? Has Gordon finally found some backbone in boycotting the talks?

Another opportunity for anyone that doesn't actually know what or who the EU is (Loosehead for example) to rail against it.

Brilliant Tory hypocrisy. Claim to be eurosceptic, but at the same time realising that on any significant global issue (Burma, Kyoto, China) only pursuing through the EU carries any relevance.

Whether it was Thatcher's fault or not, the fact is that right now Brown is the "leader" and he has to deal with whatever comes his way during his tenure. Staying away from the summit smacks of cowardice and is no way a leader should behave. He should have taken the opportunity to lay into the Hitler-tached tyrant.
