The ONLY reason I now buy a DVD in the high street, is if it is an impulse, spar-of-the-moment, purchase. Take advantage of free delivery and cheaper prices through Play.com for all pre-meditated purchases.
I bought the Laurel & Hardy boxset from play.com (yes, I know I'm sad) for 110 delivered, it was 183 in WH Smiths. I also use www.choicesdirect.co.uk & www.loaded247.co.uk . I tend to look at all 3 to see who's cheapest.
