vauxhall astra sri exhaust

hi i have a astra mk4 sri 2.0 ltr. it has a single exhaust on at the mo. is that drinking xtra petrol and is it damaging my engine coz i know there is not enough power coming out at the moment. if i put a twin exhaust am i gonna save money on petrol and would it be much quicker..

Assuming that the exhaust currently on your car is standard (ie factory fitted), then there is no reason wh yyou car's fuel consumption would be higher than normal.
As for putting a twin exhasut on (I assume you mean a twin system as opposed to a rear box with twin pipes), this would release a bit more power - not sure of the figures
