mid 80s christmas cartoon help

This was shown around 1985-1987 i think oni tv.All i remember is it was a christmas cartoon that i think was based on a chrismas carol but maybe modern and not set in Victorian days. The bit that stands out the most was the bit where scrooge looks out of the window and see's all the ghosts in the sky in the old version,this instead of ghosts they were clothes and jumpers flying in the sky.I know this is really vague but i would love to know what this was,it has bugged me for years.Please help

It's not the Disney Christmas Carol is is, with Scrooge McDuck and Mickey Mouse in it?

..the only one I can find was an animated version of a Christmas Carol from 1982
