desk top icons back to front

please can anyone help my sister. The kids have done something to her desktop and now all the icons are back to front. She cant even get on here to ask herself because everything is reversed. They had been on MSN before they did whatever they did.

Have you tried right click on the desktop area them arrange icons then unselect and reselect auto arrange

thanks tellboy. We've tried that. I seem to remember my son saying its a trick learnt through msn - not very funny though, but hes not in, press control alt and something else. Not very technical I know. I will look for something in microsoft myself, didnt think of looking there.
