I think it's pathetic to be honest, it's my favourite Christmas song and they have to go and ruin. I think that particular line is the whole essence of the song :)

I didn't know that they had banned it but I don't really listen to the radio to be honest.

I could understand it if it were a homophobic song, maybe if it was used in a rap or dancehall song, but I was always under the impression that in this song it was just used as term for idiot or pillock. What else rhymes with maggot?!

I'm assuming the BBC think it will offend homosexuals as the term is usually used when referring to them but as Natalie says, Kirsty McColl is directing it at Shane McGowan as he is a moron!

only black american rap artists are allowed to use the word n1gger. its not a word that is specific to black people but for what ever reason the world and his uncle choose to see it that way. faggot is just another word that is obviously being singled out because homosexuals are a minority.
