trying to download Avast anti virus

I am trying to download a free avast home 4 antivirus. Is it me or isit exceptionally compicated??!! I have been sent the license key and have downloaded the first bit. Then it tells you to click on the downloaded file but I can't find it. All I've got is an icon for protracker what ever that is?? I haven't been able to put in the license key so I don't know if I have avast or not. My computer has crashed 3 times in recent months so I really need something on it. any help appreciated

Scroll down and find the list of Countries. The English one that you want is at the top of the list.

Let it install and then place the license key in the software using the 'a' icon that appears in the bottom corner.

It sound like Avast uses a pre-installer. This is a small program that is downloaded initially and clicking that will actually download the whole program. When you download anything you must always take notice of where it is downloaded to on your computer. I always download to desktop as it is easiest to find. You can shift it from there to wherever you like or delete it after use.

Try looking in your 'My Documents/My Received files' folder.

If unsuccessful... most people I know use the free AVG anti-virus that is available from grisoft.com
