what is the best way of growing rhubarb in an hot climate .

As your question surmises, rhubarb doesn't like hot, humid weather... having said that, if you'll carefully select your planting area one can harvest some rhubarb. Be sure it's planted in an area that only gets 2 or 3 hours of morning sun and is shaded the rest of the day. It will take a lot of water, but at the same time, rhubarb doesn't like wet feet... persistently wet soil. Harvest it early in the season since it will go stringy and tough soon as the heat sets in... Best of luck!
