Xmas Gift Nightmare - Please Help

I ordered a couple of photo mugs off the internet for an Xmas gift. After waiting several weeks for them to turn up, I have just opened them to find they are incomplete!! They were supposed to have a photo on the front and text on the back, but they have the photo on both sides and NO text (they make no sense without the text). I have emailed the company (no phone number given), and complained but it's too late to order anything new, plus the only ones I could get off the high street quick enough are twice the price, and I cannot afford it. Can anyone think of a way to get text put onto the mugs I've already got? Nothing freehand or stick-on would do really.

Hi scoobysoo,
I'm not very arty myself, but if you have an art and craft store near you maybe you can buy a 'special' pen or something similar, you could then write the text on yourself!!
Sorry if this isn't much help but It's all i could think of!
Hobbycraft superstore have ceramic paint which would be ideal. It cost about 5/7 though. They have a website so perhaps you could see if they have a store near you.You will also need a flexible lettering grid or it's free hand which you didn't want but that is quite difficult. The other thing you could try is to see if there is a local pottery who could do it for you.I have seen pottery shops were you can make your own pottery which are popular for childrens parties and they write names on mugs and plates, perhaps if you google that you might have one near you..Hope that helps scoobysoo and have a lovely Christmas.
