For those who remember, 3 months ago I posted the news that my dad was diagnosed with colon cancer. Yesterday the doctor told him that he has made excellent progress and they are looking to operate on him soon and he should make a recovery from it. Since his chemo begun in september he has not felt any bad side effects and has gained the weight that he had lost. Lets hope that his recovery continues to go well and thank you to everyone who left positive comments for me at such a difficult time.
Excellent news.. always a worrying time, but brilliant when things go in the right direction. Send your dad all the best and have a great Christmas and happy healthy new year...
Great news best Christmas gift you could wish for, my dad had a very bad heart and was down for a pacemaker but after 3 years on medication his heart has repaired and he no longer needs a pacemaker and can go back to work but take things easy. I wish you both all the best x
i am so glad that some cancer stories have happy endings.this year i loast my aunt to cancer (march 16 R.I.P Diedre) and then my nan also to cancer (march 26 R.I.P Joan) my great aunt has also been given 2 months because of cancer. i am just glad to hear that not all stories have to lie this way.. i wish you both well and a life of good health!
Thank you all for your wonderful messages although I dont want to jinx it as he has to go through the operation and be given the all clear if that is indeed the case. At least it is good news for christmas :-)
Hi filthie, that is great news, keep him smiling and looking forward, so good to hear something positive about cancer, christmas will be a bit brighter this year, take care and all the best to you all, Ray
Hi F - so glad to hear things are improving for your dear Dad. Let's hope the op is soon over & done with & that he & your family can look forward to a happy & healthier new year 2008. -xx-
My thoughts are with you. One of my colleagues was diagnosed with colon cancer this time last year and following chemo and surgery he's going great - he's back at work now and back to his usual wonderfully sarcastic self ;) ! Take care, and thanks for letting us know how your dad's getting on x
