im a hairdesser so hope i can help!! u could try a semi permanent colour first as then it will be easy to go blonde. i was blonde and last year went for a deep red brown but i used a semi-permanent colour first, then i knew it could wash out, but i loved it so then did it more permanent. the only thing with red is it is hard to lift out so i strongly advise to go for a semi. will you be gpoing to the hairdressers? if so ask for a colour fresh(if they use wella) or diacolour |(if they use loreal)

Where do i start....
Firstly if your hair is highlighted one of the first rules of hair colour is that a semi permanent colour will last better, as the colour molecules are bigger than permanent! However the down side to this is that if a semi is applied over pre-lightened hair it will become permanent. That is pretty standard information..
Secondly if you were wanting a colour like Mrs Osbourne youre not going to achieve this by a semi alone. It would simply look dull...
I would say that you would be much better using a product like Loreal Majicontrast.. this product is design to lift the hair like Sharons and maintain the tone and shine of the hair. The only down side is that it is recommended to apply onto naturally dark hair or hair that is coloured dark but without any build up....
In my opinion so long as you are going to a good salon you should be fine, although i would say that you should be looking at paying no less that about 70 for the colour. Otherwise i dont think that the products that they are going to use will be of good enough standard!!!
Hope this helps
