In todays papers, turns out that Judas was actually Jesus's favourite, and was 'just following orders', can you imagine, if its ever authenticated and found to be true, it'll turn the Christian religion on its head, wouldn't alter the basics, but we'd have to find another nickname for traitor.

Without Judas's betrayal, how would Jesus have fulfilled his destiny to be the redeemer of man's sins? I'm not in the least bit surprised that 2000 years later, Judas's role in the fulfilment of Jesus's destiny is being recognised. Ranks alongside not being surprised that Jesus may have had a family a la the Da Vinci Code.

BTW I'm an atheist.

Jesus only had to die, to be resurrected, didn't matter by what means, Judas wasn't actually necessary, the Romans were after Jesus anyway.
