Does anyone else feel sad that there will be no more Parkinson? He's had some fantastic guests over the years.

yes he has, but he can't go on forever, there isn;t really anyone to take his place because he was able to give his guests the attention and fade into the sidelines, not many can do that, certainly not wrossy and paul O'Grady, love him as i do, is no interviewer. It is a genre we will not see done so profesionally again. (He interviewed the Duke at least once, i would love to see that again) (I mean John Wayne there)

I agree with you, there is no one to take his place. He made it look so easy, but I know he did a lot of research into each guest he had.

I was so glad he had David Attenborough on - that man has done so much to tell people about the planet and the creatures who live on it.
that's right about David A, my son is a huge admirer of his and has dozens of his books and dvdS, infact when you look at the diveristy of the guests on the show the other night, you cannot imagine them all being anywhere at the ame time and the show looking so seamless, that was mainly down to the relaxing influence from parky and the calibre of his favourite guests being consistent over the years. he as able in particular to show an amazinglt eloquent side to the new becks
Sorry to digress, but i turned cartwheels when i heard the old buffer was being put out to grass.

The 'chat show' is a seventies formula, and should have been left there. The irfritating soft-soap style from our 'favourite professional Yorkshireman' got really tedius, and is wil past its sel-by date.

That said, I hope he continues writing - his sports journalism is peerless.
No. His guests were brilliant, but I found his fawning obseqious style buttock clenching. The worst ones I think were when he had Joan Rivers on, he had obviously been told what to ask her and she just reeled off a pre arranged set of jokes that were almost as old and jaded as her.
