I am proud to be English, But I am also happy that I live in beautiful Wales and as RAGGY says it is more friendly rivalry I have some real good welsh friends, friends I can trust and would do anything for,it is the same with Scottish people they are supposed to be mean, nothing could be farther from the truth, they are very very generous people, I love the banter between the different countries, specially when we play rugby or football. and when there is a REAL problem like when the bombs went off in London you would not believe the amount of phone calls from Welsh people I had asking if all my relatives were ok, so all in all we are all ok, well I think so anyway.
Proud to be English.... though not proud to be British... not that I have a problem with Wales/Scotland.... it's just that Wales/Scotland seem to have a problem with us
Aren't you excluding the northern irish...and people from the isle of man, guensey and jersey? (the last 3 aren't techincally part of the UK)

raysparx, you echo my feelings exactly! I'm a proud Scot, living in a very Welsh part of Wales (and loving it!!). I was very happily married to a wonderful Englishman and our son is proud to be half Scots and half English (he can change sides easily during the Six Nations!!). I have a vey good friend who is Irish (married to a Welshman). I take people how I find them, not on their nationality, but I do believe in pride in your roots!!
