a cap0n is a large castrated *******!!! we have one every year at xmas with my special chestnut stuffing...much nicer than turkey...no dry meat....

A rooster is intact - a capon is a castrated rooster.

Capons make very good roasting chickens,

I thought this was common knowledge.

well it is to the guy who works the meat counter in harrods food hall.
he has beef starter followed by caponised chicken.
