Recording onto dvd

Can anyone tell me if it is possible to hook up a video recorder to one of the new dvd recorders and transfer old vhs video material onto a dvd. If so how?Is it just by using scart cables or what.?

Tip: If you mean a set top box I Scart should do it. If you haven't bought it yet why not just buy a Video Capture card and save it onto a VCD (usuable on most dvd machines due to backwards compatability) saving a couple of hundred quid, or onto DVD with a DVD-RW drive.
