Can anyone tell me, in simple terms please, how I can copy a website address to send to a friend but replace it with a word or picture so that if she clicks on the picture it will take her to the website?

You need to type the words below but without the inverted commas and without the spaces between all the different characters - except for one space before *href*
" < a href = " www.whateverthesitenameaddyis.html " > wordthatreplacestheaddress < / a > "
What I have typed as "whateverthesitenameaddyis" is the url you are trying to link to and what I have typed as "wordthatreplacestheaddress" is the word you want to show up on this site as the link.

Here's an easy way to send your friend a Word page that will do what you want.
Start and open up a new page in your Word program. Write what you want and add/or add the picture that you want to link.
Go to the site that you want to link to and copy the address from the address bar on top [starts with http etc...].
Now go back to your Word page and rightclick the picture or highlight the word that you want to link, then choose the hyperlink option from the menu that pops up and paste the address in the in there.
Finish of the page with whatever else you want to write and tell your friend in the beginning of the page that to active the link the ctrl key has to be held down while clicking on the link, that will activate the link. The active words will be underlined bu tthe pictures will have to be browsed over to see which are hyperlinked. You can link as many documents as you like.
