But if it's a modren car then get to Halfords and buy either colour restoring wax if it's a bit dull or T-cut if its really faded. Read the instructions on the bottles before buying to see if it's suitable for the job. T-cut should be used with caution as it actually removes a microscopic layer of oxidised paint leaving the unfaded paint below, hence the name. To prevent it reoccuring you need to polish your paintwork after washing at least a couple of times a year, more often if it isn't garaged and spends all the time outside. This is the stuff...

i don't know if they have it over in the uk, but i love the meguires car care products. i used some on some really ugly black paint on my brother 60 cadillac and it really worked well. much better than any other brand i've ever used. one i haven't tried yet, but hear is good, is mothers. i don't know if they have that over there either.
