In the firing line
5 Answers
This coming sunday i have agreed to partake in a firing line experiment, where 7 of my bestest friends have 50 paintballs each which are to be fired at me at the same time. This means that I will be pelted with around 350 paintballs within the space of about 10 seconds.
I will be wearing several layers of clothing and a motorcycle crash helmet, and the question is, will it cause me any serious damage?
I've been paintballing before whilst wearing just a tshirt and jacket, and have been hit from around 2 metres away. It bruised me but it healed withing 2 days.
The firing line will be ten metres away and all firing at the same time.
I am in very good health, but i would like to make sure i wont have a cardiac arrest or anything!

The whole thing lasted 30 seconds from the first to the last shot, in which time almost 500 balls were fired! My legs took most of the damage as i didnt have as much protection on them as my upper torso. I counted 20 paintball-sized lumps on my legs, 5 on my left arm and one on my right shoulder! Ok the reason why.. hmm... right it goes like this.. er.. cos I'm stupid? I charged 3 pound per head for the honour of shooting me, which has been paid in full! SO thats me. I do make a habit of doing things like this - for instance I licked an electric fence six times for 5 pounds once. I didnt take the money and the damned electricity arced (sp?) from the fence to the stud in my tongue. Oh well thats just the way these things go :)
