What wrong with my hearing

About a month ago, I couldnt hear to well ( like you have in the swimming pool or you just got off a plane and your waiting for you ears to pop) I saw my doctor who said it was an infection in the middle ear and he could'nt give me anything. I still find it hard to hear and I have the sound in my ears like the sound of a sea shell. What do you reckon it could be

For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.I had a similar problem some years ago, but it became very painful. It was a middle ear infection, whicheventually caused my eardrum to perforate (the infection can only get out that way ) It was worse than childbirth !!!!!!!
I had anti biotics and eventually it got better.

I've just come across your posting. If you still get sound in your ears, the chances are that you have tinnitus. Lots of info. on this subject can be found on the Royal National Inst. for Deaf - RNID website. You can buy equipment to relieve the problem, but never use ear candles. They are not proven to help and can cause irreversible damage to your ears.
