New console - advice?

We want to buy a new games machine as we only currentley have a wii.

so its either a ps3 or 360 elite, but i want to know a couple of things first.

I know the ps3 plays blu-ray straight from the box, but does elite play hd-dvd's. secondly do they both com with a hdmi cable for hd tv's?

None of the original packages for the PS3 have HDMI cables but stores might have their own bundles.

The Xbox elite does not have HDdvd as standard but does come with an HDMI cable.

i have a ps3 connected to a hd tv and the graphics are great but you have to buy a hdmi cable (try play .com for a cheap cable)
