Times have moved on - and TV is no exceeption.
Althjough nowhere near as subtle and cleverly drawn in its cahracterisation, LTN was a clever satire of the socially (if not culturally or intelligently) advancing working classes.
Because attitudes have altered so much, series like this do serve as interesting examples of what was considered humourous and acceptable in those times, and compared with what we understand as humour and social satire today.
I never found it laugh-out-loud funny, but I still found it more amusing than anything Catherine Tate or Lttle britain serve up as humour.
