sorry yes, alice and gullivers are both satires,

i take alice to be about the loss of innocence and peter to be about the exploration of possibility, i take both to be about the exploration of the self if looked at from a psychoanalytical perspective.
Hmmmm... maybe. I see your point but I'm not entirely sure I agree. However it's a while since I read either so you'd have to give me a chance to re-read before I commit myself! ;c)
I like factual books. I have read 2 books about Elizabeth I and I thought her life was extraodinary. Marie Antoinette is another fascinating subject.

I love history which I know isn't to a lot of peoples taste.

She has done a few on henry viii too ,
I've got a book about Elizabeth I by Alison Weir.

I thought Arabella Weir was a comedian who wrote Does My Bum Look Big in This.

I loved a book called The Silver Sword by Ian Serrallier. About orphans in WW2, we read it at school and asked for a copy to be bought for me.

Books long gone, but memory still strong.

Was at a Jim Davidson show a few years back and he said a book in his childhood had had a big impact. He asked if anyone had heard of The Silver Sword.

It was all I could do to stop myself yelling out YES!
