What does MOS 23 etc etc blah blah mean ?

Like some of you I find the puzzle section very puzzlling!
tiggerblue10, are you feeling Down because the meaning is not coming Across?
TCL.............Eureka.............You got it...........You came up with the Solution.
Ah I see TCL. Sorry, I'm a bit thick!

The only crosswords I do is when I'm helping my staff at work do them. I usually get the last few that they're stuck on. Mind you it is The Sun so.................!
This has been a bone of contention for many years, especially the western quiz (the name escapes me) that took over every topic, but.....the then ED put his/her foot down and said that AB was plainly a Q/A website and therefore anyone could ask a quiz Q regardless - so there is your answer.

I answer when and if I feel like it because I adore trivia, but the choice is yours to answer - or ignore what areas of AB that you dislike.

Thank you all for the replies, some that seem to get a bit off the track
I wish you all a happy new Year
and will I think stay a bit on the side for some time now
many thanks Dave G
it's a site for asking questions, which is what quizzes are. People who ask crossword questions are no more mentally deficient than people who ask any other questions; they just don't know something, so they ask. You don't really see many people asking for all the answers; they do what they can and ask for help with the rest,k presumably for the satisfaction of completing the job.
