I read in the newspaper several weeks ago and it was also featured on the radio that a fifteen year's old hair was two inches too long. On refusing to get it caught the headmaster suspended him from school. And now his father is taking the issue to the High Court because it's a breach of Human Rights and cutting his air would cause him to be depressed. Do you think that father is ruining his life? I mean in the working world if you don't like something then the boss tells you not to come back the next day. And if contractually they can't just fire you that way then, as my cousin found out, they will certainly find a sneaky wayof doing it.

I still fail to see why girls can wear their hair longer but not boys, providing its tidy.
As some schools allow and some dont, it seems to just be personal opinion of the Head Teacher thats coming into play here, and not the right of children to schooling.
That is one of my points, weeal ~ very well put by you, btw :o)

It is headteachers discretion. In fact a school cannot legally enforce uniform dress codes either ~ they are lucky that most do not question it and that the majority of parents are in agreement regarding uniforms.

They may be able to enforce the hairstyle code due to health and safety ~ but as you say if girls are allowed long hair this issue should be addressed.

Hi BOO! very good, thank you..hope you and yours got through christmas ok :o)
