This is a charity quiz.

He is cheating and making a mockery out of the people it is designed to help.

I would guess that most of the questions asked on here are for a charity quiz
Well it was designed for people to ask questions for answers that they cannot find.
i agree, why should people listen to you? I for one do NOT like being told what to do, or what not to do!
I will decide who I help and not be told what to do by self imposed AB police.
The charity get their money, irrespective of who wins. As a recent charity quiz setter who advertised it on here, the more publicity a quiz gets by people asking questions the better the chance of increased funds for the charity next time.
Nice try Doc but I tried that approach a couple of years back and these people will just not listen.

Im surprised they havent accused you of cheating yourself by coming on here because thats what happened to me. They dont seem to realise that you dont need to visit Answerbank to find their answer swapping; you just need to do a basic Google search with some of the key words from each of the clues and up they come in the top search results. You cant avoid them.

Technically you cant call it cheating. The school dont set out any rules on how you get your answers but I cant believe how they cannot see what they are doing is spoiling it for everyone else.

I wouldnt mind if these people had struggled for two months (thats how long we get to complete the quiz) to find their answers and then came on here just before the deadline to try and get help with the most difficult ones. I could understand that. But some of them started asking for answers barely two weeks into the quiz with six weeks still to go. And one person (Im not going to persecute anyone by naming names; Im not interested in a row) has pretty much posted the second half of the quiz on here over the last couple of days. What is the point in the rest of us even bothering?

Sorry Magyar but there is no logic in your response. It isnt a charity quiz actually. Its a fund raising quiz for Blue Coat school in Oldham. People like me (Ive never won and Ive never got 100% right) just wont bother if this carries on. People join in because the quiz is taxing but fun to do and because it raises money for the school. As I said two years ago if you basically just post all the clues on here on day one, were all going to end up with the same 100 answers. They may as well just do away with the quiz element and just ask us to pay a 1 for our names to go in a hat for a lottery draw. That to me would be a terrible shame.

Id just
Sorry I think I ran out of space above.

I finished of by just asking people to stop doing it. No demands, no threats, just a polite request.

agree with smouse.
I will not be told who I can or can not ask for help on quizzes. Is it cheating if you ask a friend, your family, look in a dictionary--the list can be endless.
If people ask a question on here then it is up to us to decide whether to answer or not--I for one will not be dictated to.
If someone asks a question on here, then it is up to me if I answer or not--Not you.
Like Oldnathan said, why not post the whole list of answers.

If winning is that importantt ,then just what is the point.
Thanks Puss

I should have added that I don't blame anyone of the regulars on here for providing answers. You aren't to know who is using them for what reason.

Let's agree an amnesty for the Blue Coat Quiz players. Lets all agree to go away and use the month we have left (yes a whole month still!) to try and complete as much of it as we can on our own... or with friends and family... and Google .. and the library and...
Doesn't the charity make it's money from entrance fees?

The charity still gets it money - and if sites like this encourage more people to join the quiz then that is more money for the charity.

I can't see your problem.
But it isn't a charity quiz. It's a school quiz and although I'm sure the school would love to increase circulation and the funds it raises, they have to be realistic. After 15 years circulation is still pretty much limited to pupils and parents with a vested interest in the school. And I can't for the life of me see AB helping to alter that.

If you are getting the questions and the answers on here for free, how would that serve to promote the quiz? How is AB serving to promote the quiz at the moment? People have been using AB with the School name in the title of their posts for the last 3 years but where are the people begging for details and entry forms?

Oldnathan. I stand by my comments. It is irrelevant that the particular quiz you are referring to is not technically a charity, they are however raising funds and poodledoo's pound (or however much that particular quiz cost) is as good as the next person's, and if they are lucky enough to be drawn out of a hat as the winner, then good luck to them. I for one will continue to help others if I am fortunate to know the answer.

If you think like sodemall10 then why on earth did you join this site.

Because razza, if everyone behaved like poodledoo there would be no bl00dy point entering.

I, from dilligent research have all 100 answers.

I shall list them all on here this evening.
If you have all the answers doc spoc the you have done well however I think people use this link as further research for the more obscue questions. There is no rule as to how one comes to an answer and judging from the replies it has caused a bit of a stir. I for one will look forward to you posting the remaining answers for which I am awaiting 2. I have entered the quiz now for a number of years and I have won a prize once which I donated back to the school. Peace to you and all Happy New Year and good quizzing for 2008
Just a thought, Oldnathan - if your organisation is not a Registered Charity, I think that YOU are breaking the law.
Happy New Year !!!
In one respect Doc Spock I agree with you,it is more satisfying getting your own answers,I have recently done money matters, got all 100 correct and gleaned one answer from A.B.,I am in the process of doing Rocky Horrors I have 100 answers, all my own,not saying they are all correct and it does give one a lot more satisfaction. However this sit was started for the sole purpose to which you complain about. All I can say is leave people to judge for themselves wether they give the answers or not.
