Hi Guys
I have only just registered with AB but have been reading posts for nearly a year....but this is the first question i have needed an answer to so here goes!!!!
I have just found out i am pregnant (yippee)!!! My last period started on 11th November. When i went to the doctor he said i am literally just pregnant, about 10 days, but i thought it was worked out from the date of your last period, which would make me about 6 weeks? So which am i?!?!?! Thanks in advance!!

When you have your booking in appointment at around 8-10 weeks, your midwife will calculate it from the first day of your last period which does make you 5 weeks now. Doctors eh? Most women dont even have to see their docotr first anymore. I just went in and told the receptionist at my surgery I had had a positive home test and they informed the midwife on my behalf and I received a letter with a booking in appointment shortly after.

Hi cakeface, nice to hear from you and congratulations. In my experience the above posts are correct. I also found that once I had had the booking appointment the GP rather washed their hands of pregnant ladies and left it to the expert mid wifes( luckily mine was wonderful) and the consultants. The GPs in our surgery took all theit cues from the midwifes !! The mid wife will see you right.
Thanks Winny!!! When i had the doctors appointment in December he told me to come back in January and he would send a letter to the midwife, so i am going back on monday but seeing a lady doctor this time so maybe she will be a bit clearer!!! Oooh its all so confusing!!! Thanks for all your replies!!! x
