i live in central london, and wondered why all the foxes i have seen , have such scraggy , manky tails. whereas in nature programmes on the tv they have really big bushy ones
Just a guess , but in the countryside ( where I assume the television crew go ) they will probably have a balanced diet of whatever they catch naturally and are therefore more healthy .
I doubt if the foxes in london have that luxury , and probably have to scavenge from dust bins .
PS I'm a townie , so not getting at london , Ok .

Sounds like the foxes round where you are have mange. Nothing to do with location, it's found all over the UK in both urban and rural populations - it's just that mangy foxes don't look very good on TV :P
poor devils have to scrounge what they can from the dustbins, dont get a balanced diet in town, I do feel sorry for them but dont feed them, they torment my dogs and terrified my cat who we keep in at nights in case Mr Renard fancies her for supper.
