i thought the currency of cyprus was the cypriot pound. but i was told today that you can use the euro, is this right ?.

I think they convert to euro only next April
they actually change over to the euro on jan 1st 2008.
On 1 January 2008 Cyprus will adopt the euro, the single european currency, so it is the Cyprus Pound at the mo.
As of 1 Jan 2008, south Cyprus will adopt the euro. North Cyprus still uses the Turkish lira, but many North Cyprus shopkeepers will accept euros, especially in North Nicosia. Find out more about North Cyprus at www.cyprus44.com, a good site that's not political, thank goodness!
