Flying off on holiday from Manchester soon and have never been there before, having a day and night there prior to catching flight - can anyone recommend a nice hotel/bed and breakfast and some nice restaurants - I live in Brum and am looking for somewhere like our mailbox (not majorly expensive though).

Thanks so much in advance,x

Most of hotels in Manchester centre cost from 100 per room per night unless you can get in at a premier inn. Last time we stayed over at the city inn for 99, but booked a few weeks in advance (normally 169) incl breakfast. This was a sat night so may change for a weekday.
Good restaurants are San Rocco and Piccolino's (both Italian) , La Tasca (Spanish) and the Living Room, but there are loads of different types and prices.

Thank you, is Piccolino's a chain, because I think I went to one of those in Chester and it was really nice,x
Sorry I'm not sure. If you decide to go it is near Albert square where the town hall is, both are signposted
Piccolinos was recommended to me when I asked a similar question last year. We went to it and it was absolutely lovely - I would recommend it highly. Try the mixed starter between two - yummm!
Hope this isnt too late for you!
