Metal head staples.

I've recently been involved in a car crash and of the many things I've got one is both normal and metal stiches to my head. I've been discharged from hospital and was told to remove the stiches myself after 10 days, though at the time I never realised I had metal staples. I assume I go back to the hospital and don't actually remove the metal ones myself.

Cheers.

Best to phone the hospital & ask their advice, they are the people who stitched your head. Hope you feel better soon.

Ive had lots of stitches in the past and on occasions ive removed the stitches myself much to the dismay of the hospital, ive never been told to remove my own stitches! I should check with the hospital before you remove any of them.

Yes, don't remove your own stitches!! Go back to the hospital and check exactly what they mean.
Leave them to the hospital to remove, I had 25 on my hip after a bike accident. There is a special type of plier that removes them without hurting by bending them back out, If anything it itches like mad.

Thanks for all that. They defo told me to remove the thread stiches myself, though this is Spain I'm living in. I'm with the doctor again on Tuesday, though I'm not looking forward to the staples being removed.

Cheers.

Whoever operated on you should have had their team arrange for the District Nurse to pop along and take them out for you.  Metal clips should be removed with a specialist tool(imaginatively called a Clip Remover!) so as others have said you need to get in contact with the hospital again.
