Wetherspoon pubs limit parents to two drinks

Adults who come to the JD Wetherspoon pubs are allowed only two alcoholic drinks in a bid to limit their stay. A company spokesman has said that the idea behind this is that the chain is not happy with children being around for long periods of time as there are no play facilities for children. What do you think? Is this a good idea? Could it have benefits?

A couple of years ago children were not allowed in the local Weatherspoons.But then they realized they could be missing out on a few quid.But since the smoking ban they have admitted they have lost money here.Who do they think they are kidding.The idea is to kick the punters out as quickly as possible and fill the tables up with new punters. (:O)

It's wetherspoons, children or otherwise I see no reason to go there. (Apart from the one in Lewisham where for some reason I always meet an old friend and it's become something of a ritual. However I still hate it). But as far as I can tell children not in a pub is a good thing and I hope it's extended over many more pubs. In fact, I have a list...

We went in to our local Wetherspoon for lunch on a Sunday , it was still a smoking pub then and it was awful Full of drunks , some one threw up in the bar ,people were using foul language . Then when the smoking ban came in we went in for breakfast , food was ok ,but the drunks were there at 10am drinking beer and smoking in the garden , Will not be going back and wouldn't take a dog in there let alone a child .

No problem with parents taking children to a pub for lunch if they make them sit down and eat but when they let them run round and annoy other diners I get very aggravated.
My parents would have given me a good slap if I had dared to do it.

Sooner they get them out after eating the better.

lankeela ,have to agree with you as a social club we use lets the little darlings in !! The parents let them do there own thing or did as now they have to look after them or lose there membership , parents should make them behave or not use use pubs and clubs .

When I left England kids weren't allowed in Pubs. when did this change ?
