junk free toiletries
6 Answers
Can anyone recommend some good toiletry ranges that don't have any of the chemical nasties we're supposed to avoid. I'm looking for the usual kinds of stuff - kid's shampoos and bubble bath; and bath and shower products for my husband and I.
i had some of the Waitrose organic stuff last year and really liked it but unfortunately the nearest branch is 50 miles away.
I don't mind getting stuff on the internet but high street recommendations would be great. Thanks.

My husband is allergic to anything with artificial smells. We use just pure soap now, though I cheat and buy Simple shampoo and conditioner as my hair doesn't cope well with just soap to wash it!
Halos and horns are in supermarkets, but not all - Morrisons do it for certain, and I am not sure who else.

If you're looking for skincare stuff try Liz Earle - her products are fab and have no nasty chemicals in them. The Orange Flower and the Men's body washes smell divine and last for ages too! The Cleanse and Polish is my must-have product. You can buy it in a few shops (Isle of Wight and London), but also online. Here's a link:

There is also a 'factory seconds' shop on ebay:

For shampoos try MOP (Modern Organic Products) or Aveda - I've used both ranges and love Aveda's Rosemary Mint - just the thing to get you going in the morning!

Organic doesn't necessarily mean chemical nasties have been taken out. Get something without parabens ... Liz Earle is good, or go for:
www.greenpeople.co.uk.
I asked this question a few weeks ago, and their stuff is very good, NO parabens ... I bought shower cream, face cream and body cream and they smell delicious. There is an article about them in today's Mail YOU magazine if you can get hold of it. Apparently it is sold in Waitrose but I got mine mail order. Lovely stuff .. ditch the parabens.
