Lifes circumstances (won't bore you with the details) led to me hitting the bottle heavilly (we're talking drinking before I was even out of my pj's here yet somehow I managed to hold down a fulltime job and no-one but my family knew)
I went to months of HYPNOTHERAPY combined with COGNITIVE BEHAVOURAL THERAPY which did help alot. It did not mean that everything was solved at once but was an ADDED TOOL to help me cope. i would recommend it definately. Never once did I feel out of control during the sessions and the "homework" (keeping a diary of drinking an emotions) helped too. Not completely there yet but on my way.
So yes I think it can HELP with any addiction (be it gambling, drink or eating) but it is not the ultimate easy cure...it takes hard work from yourself too.
