X-Factor
Is it fair?
- Public Voting - The groups will definitely have more families and friends voting for them than the solo contestants.
- On Simon - All these booing and stick he is getting for being brutally honest is so unfair on him. Just think back to the way he was judging Cassie. Fair enough he was a bit harsh on the young girl, but he is right, it does not matter how young she is, she is bound to get negative feedback some time. Last night, he took back all he said the 1st week and praised her.

I think that your first point is true, though the family and friends of the people won't make much difference to the overall votes, as ultimately the huge proportion of people voting are just the public who don't know anyone. It could be that one of the solo contestants comes from a large town, where people will vote for them, and a group comes from a small village, where they get less support.
Secondly, I think Simon Cowell loves people giving him stick, and people love giving it to him. I think most people actually think that although he is sometimes a little bit harsh, its good that hes honest, and makes it more interesting. Theres something about Simon Cowell thats quite....attractive... =)
I agree with Iwantthatone on the public voting. it's swings and roundabouts.
I also agree that there is something lurrrrverly about the man too :-D
I don't agree with the judges vote at the end though!
This is my opinion on the judges voting ....
On the first week, when Roberta and Voices with Soul, were up against each other. Simon voted Roberta out .... I thought she was a cracking singer, had the looks etc too. Now does anyone think it is possible that Simon voted Roberta out, because he may of seen her as a threat to his 3 acts, in the coming weeks?
Then this week. Verity V's 2 to go. I didn't perticularly (sp?) like 2 to go anyway .... but to hold up my theory ... lol Did Sharon vote Verity off, because Simon voted one of her acts off, the week before?
You can see how petty the judges are between themselves. Is it fair to take it out on the singers, just because they are being mentored (sp?) by someone that they don't get on with/ don't want to win the competition?
Is it all about the singers? .... or the judges? .. Cripes, Ive confused myself now lol
Sorry for waffling on ..
*Steps off soapbox* :-P
Hi,
Many thanks to iwantthatone and JustScarah for your responses =) It is really great to get different viewpoints and feedbacks.
About the judges voting at the end of the show, they should have celebrity guests (ones who are great singers and are well respected) on the show to cast the final vote. The three judges could be casting their vote tactically if they want to win badly. And where judges are ganging up against the other one, it is really difficult to have a fair result.
Its not just me that thinks Simon iss nice then! phew!
Apart from the judging at the end, which I think is abit unfair for the reasons said, the other thing I thought of was what if (not very likely I know) but say both of Sharon's two left, or both of Simon's two left were to go in the next two weeks, one of them wouldnt be in the final show. Im sure the producers want all three judges to have at least one act for as long as possible, in the final preferably to maintain the competitveness between them. Wouldn't be as interesting if one of them didn't have an act left....just thought perhaps it might be a reason for some fixing of votes to go on....
