Thanks for the tips. I have the census return for 1891 showing
father, Benjamin Satterthaite 67yrs
mother, Susan 74 yrs
daughter Agnes 37yrs
daughter Isabella 36 yrs
stepson,Adam Johnston 54yrs
Grandchildren:- Robert 14yrs, Margaret 13yrs, Janet 12yrs, James 3yrs and i think it is john 2yrs.
!881 census shows
Benjamin, Susan Adam, Agnes Isabella, Granchildren:- Benjamin 8, Robert 4 , Margaret 3, Janet 2 and David Collins 17, Adopted son.
So maybe both daughters had children by the Step son. It seems a lot of children with no father.
1871 census return shows
Benjamin, Susan ,Agnes, Isabella and David Collins 7yrs.
1861 census return shows
Benjamin, Susan, Agnes 10yrs and Isabella 8yrs
1851 shows Benjamin 22yrs, a Servant and in the same household a servant, Susanna Weakman 38yrs, Adam Weakman 17yrs amd William Weakman 53 visitor from Scotland. Could be Weightman mistranscribed or misheard.
I will have to keep looking.
