There is a place in the front of my computer to plug in a set of headphones. However, when I do so there is no sound from them and yet the headphones work fine with a radio........any suggestions please?
Hi, Doc, I went where you suggested (some of it looks pretty complicated!) and I could find nothing obvious to click on. I'm starting to think it could the headphones, they came with a really cheap little hand-held radio.
Go to Control Panel, Sounds and Audio devices and click the Advanced button on the Volume tab. Check that none of the mute boxes are ticked and all the volume controls are at least half way up.
stewey. Click on start>control panel>sound effects>speaker configuration >back panel. You will see Blue ( line in). Green( line out) Orange ( mic in), plug headphones into Green (line out), hope you find that this works for you.
I don't see that it makes much difference what headphones you are using. The problem is obviously with the computer as your builder's headphones didn't work either. Is there a helpline provided by whoever you bought the computer from? They may be able to help you sort this out. A couple of questions though: is the place you are plugging into a small green hole? Have you ever had sound from this computer, i.e. through speakers?
Yes, roomby, I get sound through the speakers. As you suggest, I'm going to have to some looking around. Maybe go to 'Help and Support" on Microssoft. Thanks for you replies.
