A serious question for all curry lovers.Should we increase immigration to enable Indian restaurants to maintain staff levels of Chefs & Waiters?
Already, quite recently 2 restaurants not far from me, have been raided by Immigration Officials & 6 Bangledesh workers deported.
This constitutes a serious theat to all curry lovers!!!!

An Indian takeaway near me was raided recently too, and 6 illegal immigrants caught. I can't say it brought any tears to my eyes. I love Indian food, but that's no excuse for illegal immigration. Anyway, I can make a good curry myself.
I used to work in an Indian restaurant whilst at college and I am not Asian. I worked in the kitchen for the first 6 months and then out front waiting once I knew the dishes. You don't have to be from Asia to work in an indian restaurant. Although saying that I probably wouldn't eat in one that was run by English people.
exactly, I'm sure curry chefs dont neccessary HAVE to come from India or Banglesdesh.
Ime Sure There Is No Need To Import Any More Asian's
We Got Load's Of Em!
The guy says in the article he is having to take untrained staff rather than trained staff from Asia.

As has been said, there are loads of Asians already here (too many) and they have been here for years, so surely we can train some of the Asians already here to be chefs.

After all, every chef is untrained when they start.

Sound like an opportunity for a "curry college" in the UK (serious suggestion)
